Jonathan Edward Brooks Callard

Jonathan Edward Brooks Callard was born in Leicester on 1 January 1966 and educated at Bassaleg Comprehensive School, Newport, and St Paul and St Mary College in Cheltenham. He taught at Downside School. Between 1984 and 1989 he scored 543 points in 156 matches for Newport. He joined Bath in 1989 and went on to score 2087 points in 210 games for the club, including all 19 points in the European Cup Final victory over Brive in 1998. Jon Callard gained five caps at full-back for England between 1993 and 1995 and later coached Bath, Leeds and England under-21. He toured with the Barbarians to Japan in 1996 and Italy in 1997.
