Alastair Gourlay Biggar

Alastair Gourlay Biggar was born in Edinburgh on 4 August 1946 and educated at Sedbergh School and Shuttleworth Agricultural College. He was a foreign exchange broker. He played at centre and wing for London Scottish and at county level for Middlesex, East Midlands and Sussex. In the 1967 Mobbs Memorial Match he scored a try for East Midlands against the Barbarians. In 1966 he represented South-Eastern Counties against Australia. Between 1969 and 1972 he scored one try in 12 internationals for Scotland. In 1970 he played for Scotland & Ireland against England & Wales at Twickenham in the RFU centenary match. On the 1971 British Isles' tour of Australia and New Zealand Alastair Biggar scored nine tries in 10 appearances, including a hat-trick against Marlborough & Nelson Bays.
