John David Bevan

John David Bevan was born in Neath on 12 March 1948 and, as well as his home town club and St Luke's College, Exeter, had a long career at fly-half for the Aberavon club. He played as an uncapped player for the Barbarians against New Zealand at Twickenham in 1974. He then played four times for Wales in 1975 and toured New Zealand with the British Isles in 1977, playing in 12 matches. He later coached Aberavon and, from 1982 to 1985, Wales. John Bevan died on 5 June 1986, aged 38.
