John Charles Bevan

John Charles Bevan was born in Tylorstown on 28 October 1950. A powerful wing and member of the Cardiff club, he won the first of his ten caps for Wales at the age of 20 in 1971. Later the same year he toured Australasia with the British Isles and scored 18 tries in 14 appearances. He scored a first-half try in the Barbarians' victory over New Zealand in 1973 but eight months later went to rugby league where he won further honours at international level with Wales and Great Britain.
