Dewi Iorwerth Ellis Bebb

Dewi Iorweth Ellis Bebb was born in Bangor on 7 August 1938 and educated at Friars School, Bangor, Trinity College, Carmarthen, and Cardiff Training College. He played on the wing for Swansea and captained the club against New Zealand in 1963 and also played against South Africa in 1960 and Australia in 1966. He made a try-scoring debut for Wales against England in 1959 and scored his eleventh and final international try against the same opponents for his 34th and last cap in 1967. He also toured with the British Isles twice - scoring two tries in nine matches, including two tests, in South Africa in 1962 and 14 tries in 23 matches, including six tests, against Australia and New Zealand in 1966. Dewi Bebb was originally a teacher but later worked for Harlech Television in Cardiff. He died on 14 March 1996, aged 57.
