John William Beattie

John William Beattie

John William Beattie was born in Glasgow on 21 November 1985 and educated at Jordanhill College and Glasgow University. He played in the back-row for Glasgow Academicals, Glasgow and, from 2012, Montpellier. Having played for Scotland at under-21 and A levels, he went on to gain 16 test caps between 2006 and 2011. Johnnie Beattie's father, J.R. Beattie, played at number 8 for Scotland against the Barbarians in 1983.
