Rodger James Arneil

Rodger James Arneil was born in Edinburgh on 1 May 1944 and educated at Edinburgh Academy before commencing a career in the textiles industry. He played club rugby for Edinburgh Academicals, Northampton and Leicester. Between 1968 and 1972 he played in 22 consecutive internationals for Scotland as an open-side flanker. On the 1968 British Isles' tour of South Africa he made 12 appearances, including the four tests. A popular Barbarian, Rodger Arneil toured South Africa with the Club in 1969 and the following year was invited to play against both South Africa and Fiji.
