International stars from across the globe join Ruby Tui ahead of Allianz Stadium encounter
The Barbarians are delighted to confirm a further tranche of players who will represent the famous black and white hoops when the Barbarians Women face Wales at Allianz Stadium on Saturday 27th June.
The latest group of international talent joins New Zealand star Ruby Tui, who was previously announced as the first player selected for the squad. The remaining members of the Barbarians Women squad will be confirmed next week after the conclusion of the PWR Semi finals.
Led by coaches Susie Appleby and Sarah Hunter, the players announced today feature proven international performers from England, Scotland, Wales, Spain, Italy, Australia and the United States, bringing together a wealth of experience from the international game and elite domestic competitions around the world. They will be supported by Caroline Sune the French U18 manager who was undefeated in the recent U18 Six Nations.
International front row experience and depth have been announced with Bryony Cleall (England), Christine Belisle (Scotland), Laura Delgado (Spain), Charlie Jacobi (USA), and Carys Phillips (Wales) all named. Phillips, has amassed 87 caps for Wales will line up against her country at Allianz Stadium.
England international Poppy Leitch, Ilaria Arrighetti (Italy) and Emily Chancellor (Australia) are further forwards named.
In the backs Scotland international scrum halves Caity Mattinson and Jenny Maxwell have been named and they feature in a squad include Lagi Tuima (England), Claudia Pena (Spain) and Lori Cramer (Australia).
This latest announcement highlights the global appeal of the Barbarians and the unique opportunity to unite players from different nations and rugby cultures under one jersey. With further players still to be announced next week, supporters can look forward to a squad packed with experience, personality and attacking ambition.

The Barbarians Women’s fixture kicks off at 5pm at Allianz Stadium on Saturday 27th June, following on from the Barbarians Men’s fixture against Wales which takes place at 2pm.
