Vitto, the Italian food brand dedicated to bringing people together through great food, is proud to announce its partnership with the Barbarians Women’s rugby team, becoming the first-ever standalone sponsor in the team’s history, ahead of their fixture against Wales, on 27th June at the Allianz stadium, Twickenham.
The landmark partnership brings together two organisations united by a belief in community, connection and creating memorable experiences. While Vitto champions the Italian tradition of bringing people together around food, the Barbarians Women’s team is built on a unique rugby culture that unites players from different clubs, countries and backgrounds, creating friendship, trust and team spirit in just a matter of days that will last a lifetime
The Barbarians are one of rugby’s most iconic teams, renowned not only for their rich history but also for their distinctive approach to the game. Unlike traditional representative teams, players come together for a single week, quickly forging bonds and trust before taking to the field. The result is a style of rugby that celebrates creativity, adventure and enjoyment, making the Barbarians one of the sport’s most admired and entertaining teams.
For Vitto, the partnership represents a natural alignment of values.
Philip Durham, UK Business Director at Atlante, the team behind the Vitto brand said of the partnership:
“To become the first-ever sponsor of the Barbarians Women’s team is a huge privilege for us. The Barbarians represent something truly special in sport. They bring together people from different backgrounds and create a genuine sense of connection, and community in a fun environment. Those values are at the heart of Vitto too.
“Both organisations are built around the same idea: creating memorable moments through shared experiences – that connection sits at the heart of both the Barbarians and Vitto, and that’s why this partnership feels such a natural fit.”
Fiona Stockley, the lead of the women’s game at the Barbarians said:.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Vitto, their passion for women’s sport and their belief in the power of creating a community matches the aims of the Barbarians club seamlessly.
We are excited to have our first standalone sponsor and look forward to building a long lasting partnership with Vitto who really understand the importance of creating an environment that allows fiends, family and now rugby players to come together with shared purpose.”
John Spencer, Barbarian F.C President added:
“We would like to thank Vitto for their investment and partnership. They see the value in supporting the Barbarian F.C Women’s side, with the aligned values and vision and we look forward to working together on this partnership in the lead up to and at the Barbarians v Wales fixture.”
The partnership comes at an exciting time for women’s rugby, off the back of their most watched World Cup and marks an important milestone for the Barbarians Women’s programme. As the team prepares for its fixture on 27th June against Wales, Vitto will support the squad throughout the week, celebrating the connections and shared moments that make the Barbarians experience so unique.
Together, Vitto and the Barbarians Women’s team will champion the values of community, enjoyment and connection, proving that whether through food or rugby, the best experiences are the ones shared with others.
