To mark the 125th anniversary of both clubs’ foundation, the Barbarians will be returning to Edinburgh for a celebration challenge match to be played on 21st April.
Iain Milne, vice-president of Heriot’s (pictured here with brothers David and Kenny when together they formed the BaaBaas’ front row in 1989) and hero of the Scotland 1984 Grand Slam, played for the Barbarians 14 times.
He said: “This match will be a great occasion for rugby in Scotland and we are very proud to be hosting it. It is a rare opportunity to see the Barbarians, the most famous club side in the world, play here.
“Their style of play encompasses all the positive aspects of rugby and I know the players at the club are very excited about being involved in this unique match.
“We are working hard to ensure it becomes a date in the diary and to get other clubs and the local community involved.”
