Nine nations will represent Barbarians F.C on Saturday as they take on Wales Women at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham.

Wales international Carys Phillips will make Baa-Baas history from hooker, following in her father, Rowland’s, footsteps by playing for the Club – the first father-daughter duo to do so.

She will be led by experienced Wallaroo forward Emily Chancellor who has been awarded the captaincy in a pack containing a total of 228 caps.

Spain prop Laura Delgado Dueñas and Scotland prop Christine Belisle will call time on their career after the weekend. Former England forward Poppy Leitch and Scotland lock Sarah Bonar make up the second row, while Black Fern Amy Rule and two-time capped England international Rownita Marston-Mulhearn join Chancellor in the back row.

The back three is made up of Australia full-back Lori Cramer, 2021 Rugby World Cup champion Ruby Tui and Gloucester-Hartpury all-time record appearance-maker Rachel Lund, while Canada’s Alex Tessier and Claudia Pena of Spain partner in the centre. Scotland scrum-half and kiwi Liv McGoverne are at half-back.

Marston-Mulhearn, Lund and Celia Quansah are the only players to have previously pulled on the famous black and white jersey. The latter two, along with replacement Bryony Cleall, will also call time on their careers in the game.

“Representing the Barbarians is a huge honour and one all of the girls are extremely deserving of,” head coach Susie Appleby said.

“It’s been a brilliant week in the heat, and we have been blessed with a wonderful group of people who have bonded amazingly in a short amount of time.

“Everyone will make a massive contribution on Saturday, and no doubt it will be a great occasion against Wales.”

Appleby added: “A huge congratulations to the girls who will be making their final appearance before retiring. They have given so much to the game and we hope they enjoy what should be an incredible occasion at Allianz Stadium.”
