Barbarians FC will travel to Rifle Park on Saturday 8 August to take on Banbridge RFC in a special fixture celebrating the Ulster club’s centenary year.
The famous black and white jersey will be worn by a squad bringing together players from across the Irish game. Former Ireland and Ulster stars including Ian Whitten, Will Addison, Craig Gilroy, Andy Warwick, Alan O’Connor and Dave Shanahan are set to feature, with further player announcements to follow in the lead-up to the match.
In keeping with the proud traditions of the Barbarians, the remainder of the squad will be made up of leading players from clubs across the All-Ireland League, giving many of Ireland’s outstanding club players the opportunity to represent one of rugby’s most iconic teams.
The fixture forms the centrepiece of Banbridge RFC’s Centenary Festival, recognising 100 years of rugby at Rifle Park.

Supporters can look forward to an afternoon of entertaining rugby played in the true Barbarians spirit, with an emphasis on attacking play, flair and sportsmanship. The unique blend of experienced international performers and some of the best talent from the All-Ireland League promises an exciting spectacle for supporters of both clubs and rugby fans from across Ireland.
The match kicks off at 3.00pm on Saturday 8 August at Rifle Park, Banbridge, where a large crowd is expected for one of the standout fixtures of the Irish rugby summer.
