In anticipation for the fixture, we take a look back at the last outing between the two sides:

Date: 13 November 2022
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London
Result: Barbarians 35 – 31 All Blacks XV

When the Barbarians and the All Blacks XV clashed at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in November 2022, it was more than just a game — it was a statement of rugby artistry and spirit.
In front of a lively crowd of around 35,000 fans, the world-famous invitation side edged out the AB XC in a 10-try thriller that delivered everything the Barbarians name stands for: flair, teamwork, and fearless attack.

This was also the first time Tottenham Hotspur Stadium had hosted an international rugby match — a fitting stage for a spectacle that combined innovation, grit, and pure entertainment.

The Robertson Touch
Under the guidance of Scott “Razor” Robertson, then the Crusaders and future All Blacks coach, the Barbarians looked every inch the entertainers. Robertson’s side mixed familiar southern hemisphere precision with the traditional Baa-Baas freedom to play.

From the opening whistle, both sides traded blows. The All Blacks XV struck first through Bryce Heem and Josh Dickson, but the Barbarians answered in kind.
Zach Mercer was outstanding, crossing for the first of five Barbarians tries and dictating the tempo from No.8 with trademark power and guile.

By halftime, the Barbarians held a slender lead — thanks to tries from Lekima Tagitagivalu and Joe Marchant, plus the steady boot of Antoine Hastoy.

The Second Half Show
The match turned into a highlight reel after the break.
French flyer Teddy Thomas showcased his electric pace to finish off a sweeping move, while scrum-half Rhys Webb darted over for what proved to be the decisive score.
The All Blacks XV weren’t finished, though — tries from Shaun Stevenson and Bailyn Sullivan cut the margin to just four points late on.

In the final minutes, the New Zealanders camped on the Barbarians’ try line, pressing for the winner. But a stolen line-out and a thunderous defensive stand sealed the result: Barbarians 35, All Blacks XV 31.
