Barbarian FC Head Coach Scott Robertson has today announced that 40-times-capped All Black Damian McKenzie will run out for the Barbarians against Harlequins at The Stoop on under Thursday Night Lights on 17 November, and against Bath at The Rec on Sunday 20 November.
Electric at either fly-half or fullback, McKenzie will link up with Robertson’s side as Harlequins face the Barbarians for the first time in the Club’s history. McKenzie will line up in the famous Black and White jersey alongside Harlequins’ record appearance holder Mike Brown and former Wasps duo Dan Robson and Jacob Umaga.
Commenting, Barbarians Head Coach Scott Robertson said: “I’m so excited to see Damian link up with the team as we face Harlequins. Damian is one of the most dangerous attacking players in the game and will suit the famous Barbarians style well.
“I know Damian will be as excited as I am to see that Barbarians brand come up against the high-tempo rugby Harlequins love to play.”
McKenzie joins the rank of players already confirmed by the Barbarians for this fixture, with former Quins player and all-time appearance record holder Mike Brown, Ireland international John Ryan, Springbok Francois Hougaard, England international Dan Robson and fellow former Wasps player Jacob Umaga set to don the Black and White.
