David Ian Campese

David Ian Campese was born on 21 October 1962 in Queanbeyan. He played at full-back and on the wing for Australian Capital Territory before moving to Sydney where he played for the Randwick club and state rugby for New South Wales. He also played club rugby in Italy for Amatori Milano. David Campese was a member of the Wallaby team that won the Rugby World Cup in 1991. Between 1982 and 1996 he played in 101 internationals for Australia, scoring 315 points and setting a new world record of 64 tries. He also played for Australia against the Barbarians four times - in 1984, 1988,1992 and 1996 - when his total of three tries included a remarkable individual score in the 1988 match at Cardiff.
