Martin Edward Corry
Martin Edward Corry was born in Birmingham on 12 October 1973 and educated at Tunbridge Wells Grammar School and the University of Northumbria. He played for Newcastle Gosforth and Bristol before joining Leicester where he became one of that club's legendary figures. He made 279 appearances for the Tigers,including the Heineken Cup victories in 2001 and 2002; he also played in the losing final of 2007. Between 1997 and 2007 he scored six tries in 64 internationals for England in the seecond row and back rows of the pack and was captain in 2005 and 2006. He played in the Rugby World Cups of 1999 and 2003. Martin Corry twice toured with the British Isles, as a replacement to Australia in 2001 and to New Zealand in 2005. His total of 16 appearances for the Lions included the six tests overseas plus the match against Argentina in Cardiff in 2005. He toured with the Barbarians to South America in 1998 and in 2009 captained the Club against England at Twickenham.
