Lomani: My Barbarians dream came true

Scrum half Frank Lomani is one of the game’s hot properties after helping Fiji secure their landmark win over France.

Barbarians coach Rassie Erasmus had already signed the 22 year-old up for the squad taking part in the Killik Cup match against Argentina at Twickenham.

For Lomani, wearing the shirt of the famous invitation club was a dream come true — and made more exciting by its timing.

"To play in this team has always been a dream,” said Lomani.

“What is amazing, is that the night before I found out, I was talking to my room mate Semi Kunatani and I told him it was my dream to play in this team where all the legends play.

"Then the very next morning when our coach [John McKee] called me in to tell me, it was like a dream came true, to happen on the very same day, I couldn’t believe it.

"Rassie Erasmus had emailed him to see if I was available because he wanted me to play. I couldn’t believe that of all of the half-backs in the world the South African coach chose me.

"I look around and there is all of these great players, some of the brothers from the Melbourne Rebels and there is Wyatt Crockett who has played so many time for the All Blacks and 200 caps for Super Rugby.  I just can’t believe it."
