Adam Ashley-Cooper was born in Sydney on 27 March 1984. A utility back comfortable in several positions, he made his Super Rugby debut for the Brumbies in 2005 and also played club rugby for Northern Suburbs. He first played for Australia in 2005, featured in the 2007 Rugby World Cup, and by the start of the next tournament in September 2011 had scored 17 tries in 56 tests for Australia. He twice played for the Wallabies against the Barbarians in 2008 and 2009 and in 2010 was at centre for the Barbarians in their victory over South Africa at Twickenham. Adam became the sixth Wallaby to win 100 caps when appearing against New Zealand in Brisbane three years ago. He is the third most-capped Australia player, a prolific try-scorer and he ran in the quickest hat-trick, spanning seven minutes, in RWC history in the 67-5 win over the USA in 2011. He also bagged three tries against Argentina at Twickenham in the 2015 tournament. Since his debut against South Africa in 2005 he has featured at centre, full back and wing. He has also played for the Brumbies and the Waratahs.
