Philippe Georges Saint-Andre was born in Romans on 19 April 1967. He worked as a sponsorship agent and played on the wing and occasionally at full-back for Montferrand and Gloucester. Between 1990 and 1997 he captained France in 34 of his 69 internationals and scored 32 tries. He later coached Bourgoin, Gloucester, Sale Sharks and Toulon. In 2010 Philippe Saint-Andre was coach of the Barbarians on their summer tour against England at Twickenham and Ireland in Limerick.
