Daniel John Grewcock was born in Coventry on 7 November 1972 and educated at Woodlands School in the city and Manchester Metropolitan University. He played at lock for Coventry, Saracens and Bath Rugby. Between 1997 and 2007 he played in 69 tests for England, including the 1999 and 2003 Rugby World Cup tournaments, and scored three tries. Danny Grewcock twice toured with the British Isles. In Australia in 2001 he played in six matches, including the three tests, and in 2005 in New Zealand made four appearances, including one test.
